Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has changed the format of updating its regulatory and technical framework. Changes to RS Rules will now be introduced by way of semiannual consolidated bulletins announced three months before the requirements come into force.

As explained by Sergey Kaganov, Head of the Rules and Standards Division, the primary focus underlying the new concept is on the regulatory and technical documents used in the design of ships and offshore facilities under construction and in service. "The updated format is an efficient tool that not only streamlines and organizes the introduction of changes, but also makes it possible to inform all interested parties in advance. Thus, users get an opportunity to analyze upcoming RS requirements in order to prepare for their implementation", - emphasized the RS specialist.

The bulletins are posted on the RS website in the section "RS Publications".
