RS NEVA-2023 outcomes

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) assessed the results of its participation in the XVII International Maritime Exhibition and Conference for Commercial Shipping, Shipbuilding, Offshore Energy, Ports, Inland Waterways and Oceanography NEVA-2023, which took place at the ExpoForum convention and exhibition center in St. Petersburg from 18 to 21 September 2023.

The Exhibition was marked by a particularly high level of RS engagement: more than 20 presentations on industry-relevant topics were held as part of the RS booth and business programs.

Specialized seminars at the RS booth focused the visitors' attention on the development of RS requirements and projects in the field of LNG technologies, design, manufacture and operation of innovative containers, cyber safety in maritime transport facilities, as well as achievements in the field of scientific research and cooperation with universities.

Within the framework of the Exhibition RS held a conference that brought together over 125 experts from more than 20 leading companies in the maritime industry. The topics of the reports spanned new RS service areas, the establishment of the Engineering and Consulting Center and the introduction of the ship’s Ice Safety Passport. Acting as the leitmotif of the presentations was the updated RS concept "More than just a class", which currently best answers the demand for successfully developing new areas and meeting modern industry challenges. In particular, RS outlined its readiness to search for solutions, including those focused on import substitution goals, not only in the traditional maritime area, but also in related market segments.

"It is gratifying to note that our updates and the steps we are taking to support the industry in the present circumstances are generating notable interest and response from representatives of the professional community. The open dialog and feedback we receive at such events help us to identify points of further growth and find new opportunities for developing cooperation," highlighted Sergey Kulikov, RS Director General.

As part of the Exhibition’s business program, on September 20, RS signed a cooperation agreement with ASCON, anengineering software developer. The topic of the agreement is a joint project on digitalizing survey processes in the field of construction and operation of civil marine equipment. In addition, RS signed a cooperation agreement with Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.
