Regulations for Use of RS Logo

Appendix to the General Conditions for Rendering Services by Russian Maritime Register of Shipping

The terms, definitions and abbreviations used in the Regulations for Use of RS Logo and Conformance Mark (hereinafter, the Regulations for Use of RS Logo), are set forth in the RS Rules.

1.1. The right to use the RS Logo and/or Conformance Mark (hereinafter, the RS Logo) is given to the firms having the following valid Certificates:

COTO – Certificates of Type Approval (Forms 2.4.11.1, 2.4.12, 2.4.13.1, 2.4.16.1 and 2.4.17.1);

СОТИ – certificates of Type Test (Forms 2.4.13, 2.4.19);

COCM – Certificate of Approval for Welding Consumables (Form 6.5.33);

COTПC – Welding Procedure Approval Test Certificate (Form 7.1.33);

CO – Agreement on Survey (Form 430.1.7);

CП – Recognition Certificate (Form 7.1.4.2);

CПИ – Recognition Certificate for Manufacturer (Form 7.1.4.1);

CПЛ – Recognition Certificate of Testing Laboratory (Form 7.1.4.3);

CCП – Certificate of Firm Conformity (Form 7.1.27);

CTO – Type Approval Certificate (Form 6.8.3);

CTПK – Type Approval Certificate for Fire-Proof Division (Form 6.8.4);

CTOП – Type Approval Certificate for Computer Program (Form 6.8.5).

1.2. Other Customers of services, not specified in para 1.1, can use RS logo upon the RS written authorization.

2. Customers referred to in para 1 may obtain the RS Logo for use in the user account at the RS official website: www.rs-class.org.

3. The right to use the RS logo:

.1 is given to the Customer gratuitously;

.2 is given for the validity period of the Certificates referred to in para 1.1 or specified in the written permit in accordance with para 1.2.

4 The Customer loses its right to use the RS Logo in the following cases:

.1 the Certificate referred to in para 1.1 ceases to be valid;

.2 validity of the Certificate referred to in para 1.1 is suspended;

.3 the Contract or Agreement on Survey ceases to be valid;

.4 the Customer violates the Regulations for Use of RS Logo.

5. RS reserves the right of making appropriate amendments to the Regulations without prior notice to the Customer.

6. Verification of the Customer's compliance with the Regulations for Use of RS Logo shall be carried out during surveys of items of the Register technical supervision and by other legal means.

7. The RS Logo shall be placed:

.1 on the documents, publications, official forms, advertising materials, signboards, exhibits, handouts at the seminars, conferences, etc. related to the item indicated in the valid Certificate referred to in para 1.1 (if applicable);

.2 only in full according to its image;

.3 in blank space;

.4 in a way excluding its possible transferral to the materials not related to the item indicated in the valid Certificate referred to in para 1.1 (if applicable).

.5 without additional special effects to the RS Logo or its details (for example, application of shading, volume, etc.) and without changing the RS Logo text part font.

8. Image of the RS Logo shall be:

.1 within acceptable colour combinations: blue and white or black or white;

.2 contrast;

.3 readily identifiable against the colour background;

.4 well preserved.

9. The Customer may post the RS Logo at its website only with a direct link to the RS official website: www.rs-class.org.

10. The dimensions of the RS Logo:

.1 may be proportionally reduced or increased without any change in the image proportions or its specific details;

.2 shall provide legibility and visual identification of its components.

11. Use of the RS Logo contrary to the Regulations is forbidden.
