Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) developed a set of requirements in accordance with the International Code of Safety for Ships Carrying Industrial Personnel (IP Code).

The requirements apply to cargo ships carrying industrial personnel. The term covers all persons transported and/or stationed on a vessel for the purpose of carrying out production activities at sea on board other ships and/or offshore facilities.

The requirements are published in the Rule change notice to the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships as a new Section 34 within Part XVII “Distinguishing Marks and Descriptive Notations in the Class Notation Specifying Structural and Operational Particulars of Ships”. The document is available under the section “RS Publications” on the official RS website.
