Application of the Thermoplastic Task Solution for Calculations of Welding Stresses and Deformations of Ship Hull Structures

Existing methods for calculations of residual welding deformations regulated by RD 5.9807-93 (Hulls of steel ships. Methods of determination and prevention of residual welding deformations) are applicable for calculations of welding deformations of comparatively simple representative units and flat sections. For further improvement of assessment methods of welding deformations and stresses, the application of the thermoplastic task solution is recommended, which will enable to use more detailed modeling of a complicated welding process.
