Shipbuilding in the North-West – a Slow but Steady Progress

The present article considers the problems of shipbuilding in the North-West of the Russian Federation. Existing problems of the industry are reviewed. The results of the new ships building at shipyards in Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Leningrad Region and Karelia are summarized. Prospects of new ships building at the regional shipyards are specified.
