Improvement of IASC Requirements for Diesel Engine Testing

Proceeding from the participation of the representatives of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping in the work of IACS Machinery Panel, the RS should define its position on the IACS Unified Requirements amendments in this field including diesel engine testing. Based on the contrastive analysis of the requirements of Classification societies and IACS Unified Requirements for diesel engine testing, the article suggests ways and specific decisions for improvement of the testing taking into account rapid informatization, methods and procedures of non-destructive testing and electronic control systems for main and auxiliary engines of sea-going ships.
