The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping Participation in the Oil-and-Gas Field Development on the Caspian Sea Shelf: the Present and the Future

The article describes the process of the oil-and-gas field development in the Northern Caspian Sea. Successful cooperation of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the OAO "LUKOIL" has been noted in relation to technical supervision of the facilities under construction and survey of materials and products for them, as well as perspectives for further cooperation. The field facilities' technical features have been specified. The main attention has been paid to the Korchagin field development. The activities include search and exploration, construction of offshore facilities: ice resistant fixed offshore platforms LSP-1 and LSP-2, offshore offloading unit, subsea pipelines, as well as marine operations to install facilities at the operation site. Besides, attention has been given to the cooperation of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and the OOO "Petroresurs", the OOO "Caspian Oil Company", the OAO "Rosneft Oil Company" during re-equipment of the offshore drilling unit (project 17289), construction of the mobile offshore drilling unit CHILIM (project P5195) and re-equipment of the crane ship ISPOLIN into the mobile offshore drilling unit
