Prospects of Improving Requirements for Helidecks Structure and Strength

The article contains the review results of experience in ensuring helideck strength, as refl ected in the rules of leading classifi cation societies. Basing on calculations, an engineering approach has been suggested to landing load estimation with due regard for waves intensity and helicopter structural parameters. Recommendations have been formulated on improving the normative documents regulating requirements for helideck strength on ships and offshore structures.
