The Role of International Labour Organization with Regard to Seamen's Labour Relations Regulation

The ILO role and successive activity in the international regulation of labour relations in merchant shipping is disclosed starting with its establishment till nowadays, approval of Maritime Labour Convention, 2006, included. Special attention paid by ILO to seamen's labour and the importance of marine industry for global economy are emphasized.
