Wind loads on offshore facilities

The questions are raised about the need for adequate statistical model of combined wind and wave loads of probabilistic nature and for transitive dependencies to assess the wind loads calculated by alternative probabilistic and deterministic methods. Solutions of the issues discussed are presented. It is shown that the reduction factor normally equal to 0,8 may be reduced to 0,7 in case of addition of two random loads.
