Comparative assessment of marine diesel engine quality

Authors: A.F. Dorokhov, P.A. Dorokhov
Abstract

A procedure for machinery plant (machinery) comparative assessment is described, which is based on a particular combination of parameters that may be used for quality attestation, substantiation of new equipment design plans, competitive ability evaluation, etc. Suggested algorithm: one or more analogs are chosen for each machine after which the numerical values of their characteristics are compared. Single estimates thus obtained are either considered individually or reduced to a total indicator and serve as the basis for the resolution on the quality level and competitive ability of the machine.
Key words: analogous machinery, comparison tests, specific engine mass, weight coefficients of quality indicators, cost indices.
