Emergency Response Center (RS-ERC)

The Register delivers services of the Shore-based Emergency Response Centre providing calculations of the damage stability and residual longitudinal strength of the ship in an emergency event (RS-ERC).

Registration with an Emergency Response Service is mandatory for oil tankers of 5,000 tonnes deadweight or more, as required by the MARPOL Convention. Other types of ships and floating structures can also be enrolled in the RS-ERC system.

Ship registration with RS-ERC includes two stages:

  1. Creating a digital ship model which is used for rapid calculations of strength and stability.
  2. Uploading of the digital ship model to the RS-ERC database. A client is provided with a damage control procedure for handling the casualty. Appropriate client training is provided when needed.

Emergency Response Centre specialists are available to perform calculations 24/7.

High internal quality standards and competence of employees allow to provide professional support and recommendations to the ship's crew in the shortest possible time from the moment of emergency request.
