IMO Assembly Concludes: Outcomes and RS Input
The 34th session of the Assembly has concluded with the adoption of 22 resolutions on the strategic planning and management of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Resolutions include recommendations on the implementation of IMO conventions and codes, as well as on ensuring the effective functioning of the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS).
RS engagement spans several IMO bodies, including committees, sub-committees and working groups authoring several key resolutions, most notably:
- Port State Control Procedures 2025;
- IMO Survey Guidelines under the Harmonized System of Survey and Certification (HSSC), 2025;
- Code on Alerts and Indicators, 2025;
- Framework and Procedures for the IMSAS;
- Integrated IMO Ship Identification Number System.
The session marks the transition to the next two-year working period of the Organization with over 170 different items on the agenda related to the development of uniform requirements and recommendations in the fields of maritime safety, marine environmental protection, personnel training, facilitation of maritime traffic and other key areas of the maritime industry.
