The 34th session of the Assembly has concluded with the adoption of 22 resolutions on the strategic planning and management of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Resolutions include recommendations on the implementation of IMO conventions and codes, as well as on ensuring the effective functioning of the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS).
RS engagement spans several IMO bodies, including committees, sub-committees and working groups authoring several key resolutions, most notably:
The session marks the transition to the next two-year working period of the Organization with over 170 different items on the agenda related to the development of uniform requirements and recommendations in the fields of maritime safety, marine environmental protection, personnel training, facilitation of maritime traffic and other key areas of the maritime industry.

Founded in 1913, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is a world-renowned classification society that operates within all spheres of the maritime industry with the goal of improving the operational and environmental safety of marine transportation. RS reviews technical documentation, surveys ships and offshore facilities under construction and in service, certifies vessels and companies for compliance with international conventions, recognizes and certifies industrial products and manufacturers, certifies quality management systems for compliance with international and national standards.
