Application of Thermomechanical Strengthening Technology to Higher Strength Steel Grades FW and F32W with a Yield Stress of 235-315 MPa and Thickness up to 50 mm by OAO Severstal Cherepovets Steel Rolling Mill
Application of Thermomechanical Strengthening Technology to Higher Strength Steel Grades FW and F32W with a Yield Stress of 235-315 MPa and Thickness up to 50 mm by OAO Severstal Cherepovets Steel Rolling Mill
The article describes the manganese steel production technology that provides cold resistance of steel up to minus 50 °C, and analyses phase changes in steel and the influence of main process variables upon the composition and properties formation in rolled sheet up to 50 mm thick. Proceeding from test results the mechanism of steel grades FW and F32W properties formation under thermomechanical treatment is determined.
The research allows to make a conclusion on the suitability of the above steel grades and their production technology for arctic facility construction.
