Design Principles of Shore-Based Vessel Traffic Management Systems

In this article the design principles and structure of shore-band vessel traffic management systems are considered. It is shown that generally the system should include the following equipment: 

• automatic information system;
• shore-band radar;
• optical surveillance system;
• VHF radio station;
• internal means of communication;
• technology container with a mast for equipment arrangement;
• electric power supply system.
