Determination of Equivalent Inertia Characteristics, Damping and Stability of Ships with Liquid Cargo in the Long-Length Hull Sections
Calculating formulae for determination of the equivalent inertia characteristics, damping and stability of ships with liquid cargoes to dimensionless form are given. Approximate formulae to determine the coefficients of resistance to internal fluid movement for ships' compartments are determined. Design and test data on the ship motions with liquid cargoes are compared. The capability to automatically calculate the universal equivalent characteristics with plotting of the relevant graphs or nomograms is demonstrated.
