Abstract
The effectiveness of rescue operations is reduced when the area of separation between the rescue equipment and the place where the wreck of the vessel occurred. To reduce the rate of drift of life rafts they are equipped with on-board measures of constructive nature. The article proposes the means of reducing the drift speed with a different principle of action. A full-scale comparative experiment has been prepared and conducted in the waters of the Novosibirsk water reservoir. The results of a full-scale experiment comparing the drift velocity of two inflatable rafts are described. On the reference raft normal floating anchor was installed, while on the experimental raft - a prototype anchor of attached mass. The experimental raft at a wind speed of 6 m/s showed 1,5 times lower drift speed than the reference one. The conclusion is made about the prospects of the use of anchors of the attached mass to reduce the speed of drift of rescue rafts.
Keywords: life raft drift, anchor of the attached mass, full-scale comparative experiment.
