IMO, IACS and OCIMF activity in the development of shipboard mooring and towing equipment requirements and their implementation into RS Rules

Abstract

 

The article is devoted to the analysis of the latest results of OCIMF, IMO and IACS works aimed at improving operational safety and labor protection during mooring and towing operations of seagoing ships using innovative solutions at the stages of design of a ship mooring and towing arrangement and selection of appropriate equipment. The purpose of the analysis is to evaluate the possibility of implementation of these results into the RS Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships, and consideration of their provisions when developing regulating guidelines on the safety of mooring operations for inclusion into the corresponding Register collection of regulating documents.
