Agreement on review of documentation within rendering Approval in Principle (AIP) service | 810.1.18 | RU-EN |
The Approval-In-Principle service is intended to assist the customers and developers of conceptual and innovative shipbuilding and shipping process solutions in expert assessment of technical documentation at the initial design stage.
Documentation can be reviewed at the detailed design or conceptual design stage to assess whether the proposed process solutions are applicable, to evaluate the required specific actions to obtain the appropriate RS certificates, and to inform the customers on the existing restrictions and conditions of use for the proposed new process solutions taking into account the Register engineering analysis and experience.
According to the appraisal results, the Register provides the Customer with a Conclusion Letter containing:
list of design-specific activities aimed at obtaining the RS approval
information on new RS requirements planned for implementation at the subsequent stages of documentation review
list of restrictions and conditions for use of the proposed new process solutions based on their engineering assessment and on the research effort
A scope of the review made by the Register, as well as the content of the Conclusion Letter depend on a specific item of supervision and are determined jointly with the Customer of the service.
