Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) representatives have completed their work at the 13th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications, Search and Rescue (NCSR 13) as part of the Russian delegation.

The Sub-Committee approved the following draft documents:

  • Guidance to facilitate the implementation of the new S-100 ECDIS standard;
  • Circular on implementing digital technology for VHF voice communications;
  • Performance standards for Ranging mode (R-mode) in radionavigation receivers;
  • A revised work plan for the rollout of NAVDAT services.

The Sub-Committee continued its ongoing efforts to enhance search and rescue procedures, as well as considered and approved a number of amendments to navigational measures, including traffic separation schemes and mandatory ship reporting systems.
