RS to Join IMO III 12

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) joins the national delegation at the 12th session of the Sub-Committee on Implementation of IMO Instruments (III), taking place at the IMO London headquarters between July 20-24.

The Sub-Committee is responsible for matters related to the harmonization of statutory surveys and certification procedures, unification of port State control procedures, the analysis of marine casualties and incidents and the promotion of measures to address their root causes, as well as the further enhancement of the mandatory IMO Member state Audit Scheme (IMSAS).

This year, particular emphasis will be placed on improving the methodology for evaluating IMSAS audit results and developing systematic recommendations to assist Member States in strengthening the implementation of IMO instruments.

The Sub-Committee is also expected to finalize the revision of the IMO Guidelines on the implementation of the International Management Code for the Safe Operation of Ships and for Pollution Prevention (ISM Code) by Administrations and businesses.

RS experts plan to attend the Sub-Committee’s plenary sessions and take active part in dedicated Working and Drafting groups established during the session for more in-depth technical discussions and further development of draft IMO documents.
