The 13th session of the IMO Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications, Search and Rescue (NCSR 13) will be held at the IMO Headquarters in London between June, 22 - 26.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will join the event as part of the Russian delegation.

The main items on the NCSR 13 agenda:

  • adjustments to routeing measures and ship reporting systems;
  • improvements to the Long-range identification and tracking (LRIT) system;
  • improvements to the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS);
  • development of recommendations for equipment using the S-100 ECDIS standard;
  • harmonization of maritime and aeronautical search and rescue procedures;
  • revision of the Performance Standards for gyrocompasses on ships operating in polar waters.

RS representatives will take part in the plenary meeting and actively contribute to dedicated Working and Expert groups established for in-depth consideration of issues around communications and navigation.
