As part of the Russian delegation, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) participated in the meeting of the Working Group on fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) materials held during the 64th session of the Sub-Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. The event took place from June 24 to 28, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting was chaired by the Russian Federation.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) reports that an updated list of new documents and amendments of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) and other organizations, coming into force on July 1, 2024 and in the future, has been made available on the official RS website.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will incorporate new mandatory requirements for Maritime Autonomous and Remotely Controlled Surface Ships (MASS) and the technical means of operating autonomous vessels in Part XVII of the Rules for the Classification and Construction of Sea-Going Ships. Ships meeting the requirements will be assigned one of the new designated class notation marks.

On June 16, 1969, Order No. 100 of the USSR Minister of the Maritime Fleet marked the creation of the USSR Register Inspectorate, located in Leningrad, which was to perform the functions of state surveys over the design, construction and operation phases of nuclear-powered vessels.
