Ahead of the 84th session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), the IMO headquarters hosted a meeting of the Intersessional Working Group on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions from Ships, with RS experts taking part in the discussions.

The 84th session of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 84) will open on April 27 at IMO Headquarters in London. Representatives of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will participate as part of the national delegation.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) contributed to the work the UNECE Working Party on the Standardization of Technical and Safety Requirements in Inland Navigation, held between April 15-17, 2026, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. RS, a member of the national delegation, was represented by Sergey Legusha, Senior Principal Surveyor of the International Affairs Department.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping has released its Q2 2026 regulatory update for partners and clients, summarizing new requirements of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) entering into force after April 1, 2026.

During its anniversary session, the FAL Committee covered a wide range of issues related to implementing standards and recommended practices set out in the 1965 Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL Convention), as well as related matters concerning the reduction of administrative burdens in the maritime industry.

The Convention on Facilitation of International Maritime Traffic (FAL Convention), adopted on April 9, 1965, is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

Representatives of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will be attend the 50th session of the IMO Facilitation Committee (FAL 50), opening on March 23.
