The first IMO event of 2026 – the 12th session of the Sub-Committee on Ship Design and Construction (SDC 12) – held between January 19-23, will be attended by the Russian delegation, including representatives of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The 34th session of the Assembly has concluded with the adoption of 22 resolutions on the strategic planning and management of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Resolutions include recommendations on the implementation of IMO conventions and codes, as well as on ensuring the effective functioning of the IMO Member State Audit Scheme (IMSAS).

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) informs its partners that as of January 1, 2026 amendments to Chapter XIV of the SOLAS Convention and the Polar Code, adopted by resolutions MSC.532(107) and MSC.538(107), will enter into force.

The 34th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Assembly has commenced at IMO Headquarters in London, convening the global maritime community for a pivotal two-week forum. Delegates from 176 Member States, alongside non-governmental and intergovernmental representatives, are in attendance.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) took an active part in the work of the IMO Technical Group on the Evaluation of Safety and Pollution Hazards of Chemicals (ESPH-31).

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), represented by Sergey Legusha, Senior Principal Surveyor of the International Affairs Department, took part in the 69th session of the UNECE Working Party on Inland Water Transport (SC.3/69) held in Geneva.

As part of the India Maritime Week, the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) delegation conducted a working meeting with senior officials from the Maritime Administration of India, represented by the Directorate General of Shipping of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways of the Government of India.

The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) participated in the 20th meeting of the Intersessional Working Group on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions from Ships of the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC). The meeting was held at the IMO headquarters in London from October 20 to 24, 2025.
